Introduction to My Life

[Source: Pexel ] Hello everyone, this is a little introduction post. I'll be talking a bit about myself. My name is Edward Vrancianu and I'm currently in my second year of college in TUD. I'm studying CDM which stands for creative digital media and covers a wide range of topics such as design, photography, video etc. Last semester was a bit difficult due to the pandemic so my greatest accomplishment was actually having the power to finish the semester off and doing well in it. Procrastination is a killer! My favourite module was studio photography because it was something different and learned a lot from it. My goals for this semester is to have a routine in place, attend all my lectures and labs and continue growing as a person. Everyday is an opportunity to learn, so I take that as a blessing. Prototype 01

( Source: Myself) In this post, I'll be talking about what I did for my prototype for this week. Firstly, I laid out the main things that needed to be done first. Getting the bicycle moving and working was my first priority so I worked on that. I got a free bicycle asset from the Unity Store. After that, I followed this tutorial from Brackeys which he shows us how to get a character moving in third person. After finishing it, I realised it wasn't what I needed so followed this tutorial by gamesbyjames and this was super helpful. It thought me more about rigidbodies, how to get a car to only move while pressing up or down and how to rotate the wheels from left to right. I still wasn't happy with this build because the way the bicycle moves is from a sphere on the inside. This means that there would be clipping happening whenever the bicycle hits an object and it also didn't look good while moving on jagged terrain. Game Design Document

( Source : Pxfuel ) First starting this document, I wasn't sure exactly how to create but I understood what needed to be done. I checked out the applications I could use for it and Dundoc stood out because it had a template already which I could use. I used a basic one and modified to fit with what I needed to say. I think a game design document is useful for creating games as it gives the developer a chance to write his/her ideas down and go into detail with them. It also creates somewhat of a checklist as whatever you write, you should try your best to implement. It was useful for me as it enforced the idea of what I wanted to do but also gave me some more options of what I could do. Here is the link to my GDD.
