Game Brainstorm Ideas

 Game Idea 1:

This first game would be a game designed to teach people about minimalism. Minimalism is the idea of letting go of the things we don't need in our life's. I got the idea for this game because I like living minimalistic and I don't think there is a game to teach people what it means to be one. I think that a lot of people haven't probably heard about this concept, or they have but just didn't know where to start. This would be more of an introduction to minimalism and to get people questioning what they really need in their life.

The game would start off with the player at the outside of the house. It would be in first person. Here you will be given your tasks to complete, but they are all optional. It is up to the player to keep what they think is necessary to keep and what they want to remove. For example, one task could be to get rid of unnecessary things in the living room. One player could decide to remove a few books and replace the sofa to a smaller one because this is what think they don't need. Another player could just simply only remove the sofa entirely because they don't use them.

The tasks will be marked off be they player when they think they're done. When they want to remove an item, they can sell it, replace it or leave it for awhile. There will also be tips when decluttering to get more inspiration and help the player figure out what to do. When they're done, they can save the game and come back to it after a few months to see if they have anything they don't need.

The game is just to encourage people to be minimalists in their own life's. Minimalism doesn't mean you have to get rid of everything in your life, it just means you should remove the things you don't have much use for.

Some challenges would include creating the models for items in the house and have them be intractable.

Game is intended to work similarly to House Flipper. This video here gives a tutorial on how to interact with in-game objects.

Game Idea 2:

The second game would be a game designed to be a meditative game and to relax the player. It is game where you go for a relaxing journey away from the city and into the forest. This game would be pretty short and more of an experience than anything. Personally, I don't like playing games with a long story line because I never finish them and will forget about them. Instead, I like simple games and one's that you can probably finish in two or three sittings. I'm sure others can relate.

This game would start you off with the character waking up early, around 6/7am. It will be a third person perspective. You will play as a worker who has a day off from work. He wants to escape from the city for one day and go on an amazing cycle with his bike. From his house, you collect his bag filled with snacks and water and head out. Here you're introduced to your bike and then you're free to roam at your own pace.

Like the last game, there is no real objective other than to enjoy the bike journey and go where you please. I want the player to interact with the bike so you'll be able to get on/off the bike, walk and move the bike and place the bike
down. I could add some challenges such as a steep hill where the player would be forced to walk with his bike. I would also want the player to interact with the forest. There would an ecosystem where the player can watch birds, foxes, rabbits, squirrels etc. The player would be able to park his bike and sit down in certain locations to watch the landscape. The time of day will change as well.

The main challenges would be making the bike physics and animations, potentially adding AI physics to animals in forest and people and cars in city.

This game is intended to be like games such as Azbu, Journey and The First Tree. This video here gives a good example of how a bike game is created.

Game Idea 3:

The third game would be a game where you work in a cinema and would be a challenging game to play. I got the idea from working in a cinema, so I would be interesting to actually create this. Working in a cinema can be challenging especially when it's busy so why not create this into a game!

The game would start off with an introduction to your boss which will tell you will be working from 5-10 for five days in a row. You are just new and when you complete all the shifts, you will pass your probation. You clock in and this is when the game begins. You are given a page with the movies that are going in and a radio so you the boss can talk to you. Your job is to watch the cameras to see if anyone is talking or on their phones during the movies and get them to be quiet. If they don't stop, you have the option to call security from the radio and get them kicked out.

You will also have obstacles when heading to the screens. People will ask you to bring them to their screens because they're lost and don't know where the movie is playing. This is where you check your show-list times and head to the right screens with them. You have to be quick and if the player doesn't deal with the guests in the screens, the boss will eventually fire you. You will have the option to replay the level you started on. Each day is harder than the previous one, whether it be more complaints or more guests asking for help.

The main challenges would be creating the AI to spot the player, creating dialogue, creating the models for the people and the timer for dealing with the guests.

This game would play similar to Nights of the Consumers. This video here gives a great way to create dialogue.

Game Idea 4:

The fourth game idea would be on the idea of a ship fighting game. I got the idea from watching unity tutorials and figured this could be one to make.

The game would start off with you choosing your ship and then having to fight other AI ships. The aim would be to destroy the other ship. It's a simple concept that is similar to other fighting style games like boxing. You have cannons to shoot the other ship. There would be three rounds per game. There will a health bar system in the game. I would make this fast paced since normal battleship games tend to be slow. This would be more action paced.

There will also be obstacles such as rocks and places to manoeuvre such as around an island. You control the cannons while steering to keep it more simpler. The water effects the way you aim as well. When a player gets hit, I don't want it to be realistic so nothing will be effected other than the health system. When the other player loses, the ship breaks down.

The main challenges for this one would be creating models for the ships, creating the AI, setting up the shooting mechanics.

This game would be similar to Sea of Thieves but instead of controlling a player, you control the ship. This video here shows a great way to add dynamic water to your game.
