Time Strategies

Time strategies are helpful when it comes to getting things done. It can ease the pressure of completing tasks and give you a solid plan to follow through with the tasks. Time management is something everyone struggles with so having a good routine is a good way to starting on improving.

The articles that I read were The Psychology of Checklists by Lauren Marchese and Four Questions to Help You Overcome Procrastination by Peter Banerjea. These articles were interesting and did make valid on points on their topics. Overall, they were good but I didn't agree with a few things. About the checklists, Lauren states that motivation is an "essential element" and should be used for doing big and small tasks. While I do agree that motivation is good for getting starting, I don't agree that it should be relied on and in fact, we should try get to a point wher

e we can do tasks without motivation. Motivation is finite and once we run out of it, it's easy to get distracted and stop doing your tasks.

I also didn't agree with a part of Banerjea's post. He states that we should use fear as a way to stop procrastination. I don't believe we should be using fear for a motivator because it can have a lot of downsides. For example, we start developing more negative feeling and then we could even become dependant on them!

For this semester, we could run into a lot of time challenges because we are working from home. It's a different environment and we aren't as inclined in doing as much work as we would if we were attending college. It's definitely much easier to procrastinate because there are a lot of distractions but it's much easier to attend a lecture or a lab now!

  1. I like that in your post you mentioned both what you like and don't like about each articles.
I also agree with you about working from home, there isn't any motivation there whatsoever, on my side anyway.
I enjoyed reading your blog post!:)
